Unit conversion

Submitted by afritzinger on Wed, 2008-04-23 14:24.

Am I missing the options where you can change unit measure?

Meters to feet

dBu to dBm or uV

they were very easy to manipulate in ComStudy, haven't been able to figure out how to change them in Radio Compass

Internet connection-Login

IS there a work around for logging into the program without an internet connection? We have the software loaded on a laptop for field use in calculating the proper deployment of portable repeaters on fire lines, and do not typically have internet access in the wildland areas.

Has the Shape File Export tool been integrated into the software yet, and if so, how do I export a file?

Current progress

Week of December 24th, 2007

Data structures for CDBS (US Broadcast) radios are being revised and correctly serialized for saving/storing.

Input fields for creating a new radio are being revised for simplicity, and being corrected for content by band.

New Land Mobile interference types are being added:

  • Mobile-to-Base (two mobile areas received by one Base Station Rx)
  • Mobile-to-Mobile (two mobile areas of operation both of which are using only mobiles)
  • RadioCompass Evaluation (demo)

Take RadioCompass for a test drive! It's easy, just get the Evaluation DVD from RadioSoft. It doesn't even require a license! You'll need a login and password from us, since RadioCompass logs into our servers each time it starts to get the latest and best improvements.

Give us a call during Eastern USA business hours at 888.RADIO95 or +1.706.754.2725 outside the USA, or write to us at sales@radiosoft.com anytime.

    Defaults

Submitted by pmoncure on Sun, 2007-08-26 09:23.

This forum ("Defaults") is set up to ask your opinions about how defaults should work in RadioCompass. Generally, there are four categories for Defaults:
    1) Changes that are one-time only, like adding a label to a map
    2) Changes that are for the duration of one session ("runtime") like moving a window to one corner of your screen
    3) Changes that are permanent, like choosing Metric Units each time a new study is begun, and
    4) Changes which become part of the user interface, like adding a new menu item, or asking that one menu item always be used first ("by default").

    RadioCompass Evolution

Submitted by pmoncure on Tue, 2007-08-21 16:23.

We at RadioSoft expect thousands of changes, fixes and improvements in RadioCompass in its first years of release. Here's an invitation to any user to ask for whatever it may be that you would like to see. You can be specific: "That plus sign 'add' icon in the Radio Browser should be a darker color," or very general "When are you going to introduce an in-building propagation model?" All input is welcome.
