64 bit version of Radio Compass

Submitted by kennethplace on Wed, 2014-03-19 10:26.

Hello Mick,
How can I tell whether Radio Compass is running as the 64-bit version or 32-bit? I recently moved operations to a hot new computer but things don't seem to be going any faster. And the Available Memory widget only indicates 1240 MB even though I've got 16 GB of RAM.I have a feeling the issues are related.
Thanks,
Ken Place

Will there be a pdf manual for R?C?

Antenna Patterns

Submitted by tdowns on Thu, 2010-05-13 11:42.

Is there a list that matches this complex identification number that is default to the program in order to comprehend what antenna make/model that I'm actually using? The one thing I was hoping for in this program was an actual make/model from the manufacturers' catalog/website that I could say, "yep that is the exact one I'm using." Or is there a way to default some patterns that match a omnidirectional 5db or a yagi three element 8db pattern regardless of manufacturer?

Can I still load the ones from websites into the program myself?

Drive test data

Submitted by rcrosthwaiterc on Tue, 2010-02-02 17:22.

Is there a way (or will there be a way) to import drive test data, GPS, signal level in dBm from a CSV file, into RadioCompass? I have done this with CS by building "sites" via spreadsheet import but this is cumbersome to work with. I would like to import all points as a single separate layer and overlay predicted data.

Signal strength/cursor

Submitted by afritzinger on Thu, 2009-04-16 11:53.

In ComStudy, there is an indication of the calculated signal strength at a given location depending on where you move the cursor across the map. It changes along with the lat/lon as you move around the map.

Is built into Radio Compass somewhere, and I am just not seeing it?

Color settings

Submitted by afritzinger on Fri, 2009-04-03 15:28.

After I change the colors of the matrix of a talk out map, and then view the talk in and change the colors, when I go back to talk out, the colors are back at the default.

Is there a way to keep my settings? I tried to modify the colors in a talk out matrix and then save the active study, but the colors still change when I toggle to talk in and then back to talk out.

Legends and Labels

Mick,

What are these in dBm?

Radio Compass Field Strength Legend
0dBu – White
10dBu – Gray
30dBu – Dark Blue
40dBu – Light Blue
50 dBu - Green
60 dBu – Yellow
70 dBu - Red

Are you going to put these in a legend?

Is there a way to write a Text Message on the bottom or top/ below or above the Maps generated?

Is the cross that comes on the map showing the site supposed to be accurate of the exact location because it is not?

Peter,

I tried to meet my commitment to you on your renewing my access to Radio Compass of getting the Manual for it to give to my fellow Radio System Engineers, but I am informed you are working on it now.

Even if my OK to test Radio Compass expires, I will meet my promise to you if you will make the Manual for Radio Compass available to me when you complete it.

Sincerely,

Color Editing

Submitted by afritzinger on Fri, 2008-04-25 12:58.

Is there a way to save the color edit after getting it the way I like it, so I don't have to change the colors and values after each new map is generated?

Map Center Point

Submitted by afritzinger on Fri, 2008-04-25 12:46.

It seems that after each propogation survey I create, after the map has calculated, the map center point is in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Africa. And each time I go back into the matrix settings, and then click on the composite map I'm back in the ocean again.

How can you set a default center point, like Southern California?

thanks
