Bug report forum

Hi Peter...

One site suggestion that immediately comes to mind is a 'bug report' forum for each product. That would help alleviate some of the head scratching--knowing that someone else might have hit the same bump--and also give you a central location for keeping track of these things.

As you know, I've got several open bug reports for Comstudy and it may be easier for you to wrangle them here than via email.

Thanks!

Hi Mark,

We actually do offer the bug reporting feature on this site; it's just labeled differently. Click on PROJECTS to the left and you will see you can post bugs and feature requests to RadioCompass and the Website. I will put ComStudy in the list shortly so users may submit to that as well.

Your post also brings up a point that I need to put clear navigation instructions (and less ambiguous titles) on the front page to make everyone's experience a little better/easier.

Thanks for the post!!

Mick

Well...it would be really great to get this going, because I have two critical errors that need fixin' fast as they esult in incorrect AM study results and a corresponding deficiency letter from the FCC. Not something you want your software to be known for...

Since nothing has happened with this, and you have in fact hidden the "projects" category from view (along with my bug reports) I guess I can safely assume you intend not to address these critical errors in Comstudy.

Hi Mark,

Sorry for pulling it out of public sight, it made it easier for us to post information that we may need to look back on without worrying about confidential information reaching the wrong crowd.

Your bug is still active...I will find out the status and post back.

As for posting bugs in the future - ComStudy does have a "General Help" forum that you are welcome to post to, and if needed, it will be moved to the bug database. I did not want to create yet another forum for BUGS - this keeps things simple for our users - I have a hard time deciding where to post on sites that have 25 forums....

Hope this helps - and thanks for the input.

I'll save you the search:

The two major bugs in Comstudy that need to be addressed are the database lookup error on critical hours AM studies (it pulls class-A nighttime facility data instead of daytime which is protected during critical hours) and the measured ground conductivity data application which is at odds with the equivalent-distance method and the FCC. It would also be nice if the stub radial conductivity function actually worked right, too.
