GeoTiff Issue
I'm having a problem this week (and last week) with exporting Geotiff images. I'm updating the RC software via the beta server. (currently 1.4.0.144)
When I export a file by clicking "Export composite matrix as geotif..." I get an image with correctly-colored field strength data but it is on a black background instead of a white background. If I export using the same method only instead clicking on "export field strength (Talk-out)..." I get an image on a white background but the fieldstrength info is incorrectly colored. The same is true by choosing "export field strength (Talk-back)...".
I tried co-locating the color-palate file with teh rs3 file to see if it was a pointer issue to no avail. I can't seem to find a workaround to get the files to correctly export.
I've attached a pdf with images of what I'm seeing. The first pic is the export of the composite matrix (only one site selected). The second and third are the talk out/back (respectively) exports that are incorrectly colored. The last pic is a view of both the RC screen and the exported images. RC shows what the geotiff file should look like but you can see how the shading is quite different.
Please advise on how I should continue.

Hi Joshua,
I posted this in our bug database and the developers have already started working on taking care of it. We should have a fix soon. Thank you for the detailed information!
Joshua,
If you are using the Beta server, log in again to grab the latest version - 1.4.0.149 - this version contains the fix for your problem. Please test and report back.
Thanks again!
Mick
I closed out of RadioCompass and opened it again and logged in but no update was pushed. I checked to ensure I was connected to the internet and verified the RC Gateway address (tcp://beta.radiocompass.com:22166/RCGatewayService). I even rebooted the machine and it still loads into v-1.4.0.144.
edit:
a ping command to beta.radiocompass.com is successful.

That address should actually be gateway.radiocompass.com - you'll need to change it and save the file to be able to do any online searches.
I will email you on how to switch to the beta server temporarily.
I'm now running v-1.4.0.150 and I'm still seeing the black background issue. For importing into ArcGIS, I'd really prefer to have the background white. The strength data seems to be colored and shaded properly now.
Is there just a setting I'm missing somewhere for the background color? It used to export them with the white background. I can email you tif files for reference if you'd like.
Thanks,
-Josh
Yes - please email the files.
The transparency display in certain programs will show the background to be black, white, or checked. If I can load the file here I'll be able to determine for sure that they is or is not transparency and pass it along to the developers.
Thanks!
Try the latest beta and let me know how it looks to you.
v1.4.0.163 fixes the transparency issue. It was actually due to how XP handles the alpha channel in images. Please let me know if you need anything else.
